Crit ! Cast returns with another new monthly episode, focused on competitive balance as well as the concept of the Right to Respond
Check out episode 12 with the following link here!
Episode 12 has me joined by Rob G. as we briefly go over the latest FAR list and go in-depth into Warhammer Underworlds’ competitive balance as well as the concept of the Right to Respond. The newest balance update to the game reminded me of Warhammer Underworlds’ history with competitive balance. The concept of Right to Respond was introduced to me by Rob, it is to always give the opponent the chance to react and interrupt your ability to score an objective as that interaction allows for the deepest of games and tactics while being interactive too. Have a listen if you want to hear how the game’s balance has evolved since the days of Shadespire up until now and beyond.
Closing Crit
That’s pretty much it for now. Episode 12 of Crit ! Cast is just under 90 minutes. Whether you’re returning to Warhammer Underworlds, new to the game or an experienced player, this is the podcast episode for you. As stated before, we cover the evolution of Warhammer Underworlds’ competitive balance, highlighting what Games Workshop always hits with repeat succession. We cover some more key concepts like stop trying to defend broken builds you run and own them as well as the important concept of the Right to Respond. For the latter, a key brief example is you always remember the close games where there was constant back and forth, not when they were un-interactive 1-sided stomps.
